The Tip Of My Tongue Is Red

There be Dragons Premiere, Tolentina against cancer + Nadal versus alcohol?

few days ago, I wrote a post about a conference and exhibition the Oscar-winning director of film and theater costume Yvonne Blake, had taken place in the Club Sevilla Antares. Well, today I bring you my thoughts on the latest film in which he worked (the photo below is the costumes) and whose premiere, which I was fortunate to be invited, was held Tuesday March 22 in theaters Al Bormujos Andalus, Sevilla.

The film is a epic drama with a strong element of "magic realism" that prints tenderness and emotion to an argument that has the background of the English Civil War. And I say background because the director is more committed to other stories, more personal, that are full of dragons. An allegory in the Middle Ages used to describe areas of the world map had not yet explored by man. A similarity to known Roland Joffé benefit to show in his film, these personal places where they live with the fear, the worst instincts of animals that man has not yet fully shed, despite the inevitable evolution of its kind.

The main actors are from left to right:
- Charlie Cox (Jose Maria Escriva de Balaguer): Stardust, Things to do before 30, The Merchant of Venice or Casanova .
- Manolo's character (friend of a sinister past Balaguer) Wes Bentley interpreted : American Beauty, Forgiveness, The Four Feathers, The Last Word or minus three .
- Ildiko Hospitalizations Brigades fighter, is the character played by Olga Kurilenko : Quantum of Solace, Camille and Centurion .
- Rodrigo Santoro is the Republican leader Oriol: 300, Lost River, or I Love You Phillip Morris .

But children are not left behind, as is the case of Lily Collen model who plays a brief but intense role at the end of the tape, or of the former star of the iconic series "I Claudius" Derek Jabobi , master craftsman makes the chocolate factory Escrivá's father, or Geraldine Chaplin, the mother of the child Escrivá, who has a huge fantasy.

Each of these three characters provoke a before and after in the life of a priest, always attentive to the signs and heavenly messages. This is a film that you have to go clean of prejudice and although that work at certain ages is very difficult, is the only way not to stay in the purely anecdotal and enter that parallel reality to that Joffé has given in tape. Without reflection and large doses of humility, just get to spend two hours watching entertaining parade on the screen characters and situations in the past, but without assessing how similar we become them, depending on which time and situation are.

Through the characters, the director and screenwriter of the film takes a journey through the human miseries and joys, from love to hate, indifference to empathy and the gift of life to death unfair and / or unnecessary. It's amazing how Joffé, who calls himself an agnostic, comes into the virtues of faith and hope, trust in a higher being who is beyond good and evil and it gets all but each one receives from a very different prism. The actors play their roles to perfection, no matter what they are primary or secondary.

coil again
Joffé on the big screen. The Killing Fields, The Scarlet Letter, The City of Joy, Vatel or Mission are some titles that have listed in your career. A guarantee in this new production that offers forgiveness as a means to save us from pain and bitterness that causes resentment and guilt. A blockbuster that opens in theaters this Friday, March 25 and hopefully, if you decide to see it, you enjoy it as much as me (I see her again.)
